1. Cheri and Ed posted on May 8, 2006 HI I AM CONFUSED ABOUT THE PLEDGES. WHY DO SOME PEOPLE IN NEED GET PLEDGES BUT OTHER AIDMATES WHO ARE JUST AS DESPERATE DON'T GET ANY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS. IS THERE A SPECIAL CRITEREA AS TO WHO GETS HELP OR PLEDGES AND WHO DOESN'T ? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME . THANKS CHERI

I am glad I found this site. I am a married woman 52 years of age. I am disabled due to the toxic effects of chemotherapy (Peg-Intron) for the Hepatitis C virus. I went through eight months of treatment and it almost killed me. I am two years post treatment and the virus is still undectable. I feel this will be the next worldwide epidemic of our generation. Many people don't even realize they have it, until a doctor does a simple blood test. Hepatitis C remains dormant for about 25 to 30 years after the initial infection and then the symptoms begin to appear. I survived the treatment,but I still have chronic fatique, severe depression, memory loss and as well as neuroligical deficients. Please forgive me if I miss a word, or don't make any sense sometimes. I used to have a brain that worked.lol
